The File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council Invites applications for the position of

Medical Office Assistant
2 Positions: Permanent Full-time; and Full-time Term

The File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council is a dynamic and progressive organization that provides a range of programs and health services to serve the eleven First Nations throughout Southern Saskatchewan within the Treaty Four Territory.

The Medical Office Assistant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for clerical functions. The position requires knowledge and use of electronic data systems and electronic medical records. The individual handles confidential health information and adheres to all HIPA policies. This position also provides occasional support to services across the All Nations’ Healing Hospital and FHQ Health Services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answering and directing incoming calls, receiving and assisting clients.
  • Book appointments for clients.
  • Clerical support to employees (typing reports, memos, letters, proposals, minutes, etc..
  • Operation and maintenance of office equipment.
  • Maintaining filing systems; supporting the electronic medical record.
  • Adhere to HIPA policies and procedures in maintaining client information.
  • Code billing for practitioner services.
  • Maintenance of staff itineraries and attendance.
  • Order office supplies and resource material.
  • Other general administrative duties including occasional support to services across the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Office Education Certificate and two years administrative experience.
  • Medical Terminology certificate.
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical records e.g. Med Access and billing system for MSB.
  • Dependability and demonstrated ability to work in a confidential environment.
  • Exceptional Interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional working knowledge of various software programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, Power Point);
  • Clean Criminal Record Check.

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (7.5 hrs./day).

Rate of Pay/Benefits:

Registered Nurse – Eagle Nest Primary Health Care Clinic

The File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council is a dynamic and progressive organization that provides a range of programs and health services to serve the eleven First Nations throughout Southern Saskatchewan within the Treaty Four Territory.  The position is based at the newly constructed Eagles Nest Primary Health Clinic located on the grounds of All Nations Healing Hospital.

Reporting to the Executive Director or designate the registered nurse will be responsible for delivering culturally responsive care within the clinic setting. Within the RN scope of practice and working closely with the primary care practitioners, this position will provide care to clients accessing services to meet their health needs, such as chronic disease management and preventative care. The RN will be proficient in triage of client needs, client assessment, screening, and nursing treatments including but not limited to wound care, injections, immunizations, etc.  The RN will be responsible for the coordination of access to timely care and follow up including wellness checks for clients accessing clinic care.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Nursing and be eligible for membership with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan
  • Minimum three years’ nursing experience in acute and community nursing
  • Ability to work with Traditional Knowledge Keepers, cultural practitioners and community members with familiarity and respect for all cultures and traditions
  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and to work in a multidisciplinary team-based environment
  • Demonstrate responsible decision making through applicable knowledge, critical thinking, and sound clinical, ethical, and legal practice
  • Demonstrate strong clinical skills related to primary care/clinic nursing.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Med Access electronic documentation an asset.

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (7.5 hrs./day). Flexibility may be required due to operational requirements.

Community Midwife
Permanent Full-time, 2 Positions

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Midwifery Team Lead, the Community midwife works within the Women’s Health Centre, and low risk birth centre as part of an interdisciplinary, collaborative health care team to deliver a comprehensive primary maternity care program for the catchment area of the All Nations’ Healing Hospital including the town of Fort Qu’Appelle, surrounding rural municipalities and First Nations Communities. The midwife is a primary care provider requiring the appropriate knowledge, skills and competencies to provide full course of care to women and their babies from conception, through pregnancy, labour, birth and the postpartum period. The midwife adheres to the philosophy of midwifery care in practice. The midwife must be able to work flexible hours to meet client care needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current active practicing registration or eligible for licensure with the College of Midwives of Saskatchewan
  • Graduate of an educational program approved by the Saskatchewan College of Midwives.
  • Current certification in CPR, and NRP
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
  • Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Expertise working with women experiencing numerous challenges or considered at risk

The Nurse Practitioner will work as part of the Miko-Mahikan “Red Wolf” Harm Reduction Team to encompass a variety of initiatives that include harm reduction strategies, HIV/HCV, opiate use disorder, and will work within a harm reduction and rights-based philosophy.

Under the direction of the Miko-Mahikan “Red Wolf” Harm Reduction Program Manager, the Nurse Practitioner provides primary care and community health services to clients and their families. Finance Clerk, ANHH

The File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council is a dynamic and progressive organization that provides a range of programs and health services to serve the eleven First Nations throughout Southern Saskatchewan within the Treaty Four Territory.  Based out of the All Nations Healing Hospital, the Finance Clerk will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Under the direction of Finance Manager, the Finance Clerk performs a variety of general and advanced accounting duties including accounts payable/receivable, assist with payroll functions, and provide occasional support to programs across the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing financial transactions such as payments, billing and account reconciliations.
  • Provide support to clients and vendors by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems and databases.
  • Prepare financial reports and statements as needed.
  • Assists with payroll functions (provides back up to payroll)
  • Assists with tracking capital assets, allocating prepayments and accruals, reconciling general ledger accounts/banks statements, closing month/year end accounts, preparing schedules for audit and year end operations, and preparing and monitoring cash flow projections.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Administration/Accounting and/or combined experience.
  • Two (2) years’ experience working in accounts payable and/or receivables.
  • Knowledge and experience in the interpretation of collective agreements.
  • Experience working with 3sHealth payroll and benefits system would be an asset
  • Proficient knowledge in Sage 300.

Payroll Clerk, ANHH
Full-time. One-year Term

The File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council is a dynamic and progressive organization that provides a range of programs and health services which serve eleven First Nations throughout Southern Saskatchewan within the Treaty Four Territory.  The position is based at the All Nations Healing Hospital (ANHH), located in Fort Qu’Appelle, SK.  

This position will play a key role in the facilitation of the new Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) Administrative Integrated Management System (AIMS). Under the direction of the ANHH Finance Manager, the Payroll Clerk performs data entry to facilitate the processing of payroll and benefits in accordance with departmental, regional, and legislative requirements. This position will be responsible for accurate payroll data entry, processing employee pension and benefits, payroll remittances, and payroll accounts payables.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for processing payroll for ANHH employees.
  • Responsible for processing employee pension and benefits, payroll remittances and ROE’s.
  • Prepares, sorts and files a variety of reports for month-end, week-end and year-end statistics.
  • Prepares and monitors year-end reports as they relate to payroll.
  • Prepares payroll month-end reports for input into General Ledger.
  • Prepares month-end payroll remittances to various agencies as needed.
  • Assist in year-end balancing, submitting of information to Revenue Canada (T4, T4A, etc.) and distribution of T4’s and T4A’s to employees.

Qualifications: 

  • Certificate in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Canadian Payroll Association Compliance Course would be an asset
  • Two (2) years’ experience processing payroll.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Knowledge and experience in the interpretation of collective bargaining agreements
  • Experience working with 3sHealth payroll and benefits system
  • Proficient knowledge in Sage 300
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and transportation.
  • Clean Criminal Record Check
