POSITION SUMMARY
An Integrated and Wholistic Approach to Health Care Delivery
Located on Treaty 4 Territory in the beautiful Qu’Appelle Valley, the All Nations’ Healing Hospital (ANHH) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Licensed Practical Nurse to join the acute care team.
Under the direction of the Acute Care Unit Coordinator, and within a multidisciplinary team, the LPN will be responsible for the delivery of safe and high-quality general duty nursing care of acute care and emergency services. The LPN works to full-scope and works collaboratively with all departments of ANHH and the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council (FHQTC) Health Services to further promote holistic healing and a commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Applies critical thinking and clinical judgement in health assessments throughout nursing process.
- Assists physician with procedures, where required.
- Contributes to the development of nursing care plans.
- Provides direct patient care by following nursing care plans and protocols.
- Accepts, transcribes and initiates physician orders (e.g., orders, accompanying physician on rounds).
- Observes, reports and records physical and psychological observations/changes in-patient condition.
- Assists with/provides personal hygiene to clients/patients/residents.
- Administers and records medications (e.g., oral, subcutaneous, pulmonary, rectal, intramuscular).
- Initiates, administers and maintains intravenous therapy (e.g., flow rate, site integrity).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of approved Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Current registration with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan (CLPNS)
- Indigenous and rural healthcare experience an asset.
